Silver City, NM (Riding Day 15)

My Warm Shower host continues to be an amazing and supportive host.  We enjoyed sharing travel stories, cycling tips, and route recommendations.  She has hosted countless Warm Shower guests over the years and is an incredible host along with her dogs.  Today I explored the quiet, quaint town of Silver City.  Home to two different bike stores plus a pretty impressive bike co-op, impressive restaurants, a well-stocked food co-op, several art galleries, and a nice creative downtown area.  The people seem friendly, supportive of one another, and appear to know how each other’s businesses each contribute to the greater good of the community.  Home to Tour of the Gila, an impressive and demanding road cycling race for many years, this seems like one town that I’d love to return to some day.  But alas, the road homeward must be travelled.  I have been away for one month already and two remain…as do several thousand miles.silver-city
